THE STREET
STAYS BECOMES
THE FEED.

Everything that happens on the ground — the twist, the laugh, the face someone makes — has a second life on a screen. Phygital is not a strategy. It is the infrastructure. This document shows how every physical touch point becomes a digital engine, and every digital action sends someone back to the street.

STEP 01 · GROUND
The Theatrical Sample
A sampler in branded gear approaches someone at a daladala stop, Coco Beach, or university gate. They hand over a single Oreo (TZS 100 SKU) and demonstrate the twist-lick-dunk. The approach is performance, not promotion.

STEP 03 · GROUND → DIGITAL
The QR Handoff
After the first bite, the sampler shows a QR code on their wristband or branded card. It links to the Piga Kelele challenge page. One scan registers the person as a player. The street moment becomes a digital identity.

The Reaction Film Goes Live
The sampler's partner films the first reaction. Unscripted. The raw face — confusion, delight, disgust, joy — is the content. Clipped to 12 seconds. Posted immediately to TikTok with the Piga Kelele sound. The reaction is the ad. The ad is free.

The Challenge Submission
The new player films their own ritual — the loudest, most dramatic dunk they can manage. They submit via TikTok using the branded sound. Their entry joins the live Coast vs Dar scoreboard. Points accumulate. Momentum builds. WhatsApp groups share the standings.

Digital Proof Earns Real Reward
A creator's submission crosses 10K views? They receive a DM with a redemption code. They show it at any participating duka for a free pack. The digital engagement converts to physical store visit. The duka owner sees the pattern. They reorder.

Six Mechanics

HOW EACH
TOUCH POINT
DOUBLES.

Every ground moment has a digital twin. Every digital action has a ground consequence. These are the six engineered bridges.

📷
01 · SAMPLE + SCAN
The QR Wristband
Every field sampler wears a QR-coded wristband. First try is free. The QR is the price. One scan = registered player in the Piga Kelele challenge. The try becomes a digital entry point.
Sampler gives Oreo + teaches ritual at high-traffic points
Person scans QR → lands on mobile challenge page

02 · REACT + RECORD
The Reaction Machine
Every sampling session has a dedicated camera person. The first-reaction content is filmed immediately, consent obtained via NFC tap on their phone (one tap = consent + TikTok auto-draft). The content is live before they've finished chewing.

03 · PLAY + COMPETE
The Live Scoreboard
Coast vs Dar is not metaphor — it is a live, updating leaderboard embedded in the challenge microsite and pinned to the brand TikTok. Views + submissions = points. Your region's score updates daily. WhatsApp broadcast handles the news.

The WhatsApp Engine
WhatsApp is the real media channel in Tanzania. Designed-for-forwarding clips (8–12 sec, subtitled) are seeded into creator broadcast lists. Scoreboard updates, challenge results, and region-specific taunts are built to travel. The group chat does the distribution.

06 · REWARD + RETURN
The Duka Redemption
Digital points convert to physical reward. Submissions crossing engagement thresholds unlock duka voucher codes sent via SMS. The player returns to the nearest stocking outlet, shows their phone, and redeems. The trade channel benefits. The loop closes.

FROM DALADALA
STOP TO
VIRAL CLIP.

The exact path a 22-year-old in Kariakoo takes — from first encounter to active participant — in six moments.

MOMENT 01 · GROUND
First Contact
Amina is waiting for a daladala at Kariakoo. A sampler in branded gear approaches her with a single Oreo. It's free. The sampler does the ritual. Amina tries it. Something about the procedure makes her laugh.
📍 PHYSICAL
MOMENT 02 · BRIDGE
The QR Scan
The sampler shows the QR wristband. "Scan this, join the battle — Coast vs Dar." Amina scans. She's registered. She picks Team Dar without being asked twice. She gets a WhatsApp link with the challenge brief.
⟺ PHYGITAL
MOMENT 03 · DIGITAL
The First Watch
On the daladala, Amina opens TikTok and searches #PigaKelele. She watches three reaction clips back to back. One has 80K likes. She screenshot the scoreboard. Dar is winning. She sends it to her group chat: "tunaweza hii."
📱 DIGITAL
MOMENT 04 · DIGITAL
The Submission
That evening, Amina films her own dunk in her kitchen. She adds the Piga Kelele sound. She does it three times before posting because the third one is loudest. She submits. Her points update in real-time. She checks the board at 7pm.
🎥 CONTENT CREATOR
MOMENT 05 · REWARD
The SMS Drop
Three days later, her video crosses 5K views. She receives an SMS: "HONGERA! Your Piga Kelele code: PK8821. Redeem at your nearest Oreo duka for a free 3-pack." She screenshots this immediately. It goes to the group chat first.
🎁 REWARD
MOMENT 06 · GROUND
The Return
Amina goes to the duka around the corner — the same one she's passed every day but never bought Oreo from. She redeems. She buys an extra 3-pack for herself. The duka owner marks the code. The loop is closed. Amina is now a buyer.

Creator System

50 CREATORS.
TWO BRIEFS.
ONE SOUND.

Creators are not amplifiers. They are the primary distribution infrastructure. The brief is different for Dar and Coast — because the audiences are different people.

Dar Creator Brief
  • Tone: Loud. Competitive. Street-native. Dar doesn't whisper.
  • Format: 8–15 sec reaction or challenge clip. Sound-first — the dunk sound is the punchline.
  • Language: Dar street Swahili. The casual coded version. Not news-anchor Kiswahili.
  • Setting: Real places — Kariakoo, Msasani Beach, university cafeteria, daladala stop. Not a studio.
  • Posting rhythm: Minimum 3 posts per week during Q2–Q3. Scoreboard taunts encouraged.
  • The one rule: Never make it look like an ad. If it looks like an ad, it doesn't run.

Coastal Creator Brief
  • Tone: Dry wit. Slow burn. The coast finds it funnier if you don't laugh.
  • Format: Short sketch-style. Two characters. An argument about the right way to do the ritual.
  • Language: Kiswahili cha pwani — the coastal dialect. If it sounds like Dar, it's wrong.
  • Setting: Beach, baraza, market, doorstep. The sea is always somewhere in the frame.
  • Characters: Old and young. Mama and dada. The familiar pairs that coastal culture already loves.
  • The one rule: The brand is barely visible. The ritual is the character. Oreo appears once.

The Sound

One original Bongo Flava track. The beat drops on the dunk sound — every submission uses it. The sound is the campaign. If the sound trends, the brand trends.

The Hashtags

#PigaKelele tracks everything. #TeamDar vs #TeamPwani splits the battle data. Submissions without the sound + hashtag don't count for the scoreboard — this enforces the mechanic.

The Creator Kit

Distributed via WhatsApp in Q1. Contains: branded Oreo pack, the sound link, a one-page brief, weekly scoreboard updates, and a direct line to the campaign manager for coast-specific queries.

The Reward

Creators earn points too. Top 3 creators per region per month featured on brand account. Top overall creator at year-end gets their face on the Q1 2027 mural. That is the prize. That is enough.

Gamified Rewards

EARN THE
CLOUT.
THEN THE PACK.

The reward system is designed so that social recognition comes before material reward. Because for this audience, the clout is the reward.

The Design Rule
IF IT DOESN'T
GET FORWARDED,
IT DIDN'T
HAPPEN.
Every asset in this system — every clip, every scoreboard update, every duka code — is designed to be forwarded before it is consumed. The forward is the metric. The group chat is the media channel. If it's shareable, it runs. If it isn't, it's cut.
01
No clip longer than 12 seconds. The forward window closes after that. Design for the first 3 seconds, because that's all the group chat gives you before they scroll.
02
The scoreboard updates at 7pm daily. This is intentional. Everyone checks at the same time. The drama is synchronised. The conversation is concentrated.
03
Every reward comes with a built-in share moment. The free pack code arrives as a shareable SMS. The mural feature is a screenshot-worthy graphic. The prize is also the content.
04
Coast vs Dar is the engine, not the decoration. Regional rivalry is one of the most powerful sharing motivators in East Africa. We didn't invent it. We just gave it an Oreo.

THE STREET
IS THE SERVER.

Every physical touch point generates data. Every digital interaction sends someone back to the street. The system is self-reinforcing: the more the street activates, the more the feed fills, the more the feed fills, the more people show up on the street.
